An exploratory look at the unofficial economy of the body and soul

Goes without saying (hopefully) that this entire site, not just this page and project, is a work in progress. So there won't be much to read here for a while.

HOWEVER- it will likely be triggering to some, so here's a warning.

Basically the idea is to calculate the costs of things that the average human might need, expect, or want in the duration of their life (such as healthcare, housing, food, education, etc.) and then- based on a formula that is still in development- calculate the "market value" of a life from things like civilian and soldier losses during wartime, on-clock and on-call worker/contractor deaths, estimated human trafficking numbers, etc.

What will this accomplish?

Well, this is a social sciences experiment, so the entirety of the results and how they'll be used can't be predicted. However, we can guess at some things, hope for others.

This may show the literal, financial disparity between the staggering costs of living- most of which is expected to be covered by an individual or their family- and the (arguably disgustingly) low value placed on human life by many systems.

It will also likely demonstrate the disparity between how much one person on average contributes to the global economy, and how much they recieve in return.

At the very least, the shown "loss of productivity" from lives lost, freedoms stolen, and potentials unfulfilled will keep some capitalists up at night.

Data will be pulled from publicly available studies whenever possible, and the resulting information- as well as the calculations based on said studies, and the formulas used to make them- will be available both in downloadable archive format, and on the site itself.
